My parents have raved about this place for at least 2 decades and i finally got to go myself. was not disappointed. the prime rib was amazing. you can cut it with a knife its so tender. i also got the steak and mushroom soup… delicious. everything was cooked spot on and we gorged. its very pricy, but the prime rib was worth it. its a simple, old-school dive with a trendy crowd. parking: if you come after 6, you dont have to pay for parking kid-friendliness: not a kids restaurant

Lots of seating, lakefront property, wonderful staff, and very delicious food. i recommend the chicken pot pie and the parmesan crusted whitefish! the presentation is beautiful as well. a bit pricey, but i d say it s worth it. will return and recommend.

The parking lot was big so you can easily find a spot. we did a reservation since we went during the peak hours. service was great. we were seated right away and we didn t have to wait long for our food. prices are expensive but i m sure people can see that from the number of dollar signs it has. $$$. food was fantastic. we were not disappointed. there are different combos you can do with the meals. i did my own surf and turf with prime rib and perch. make sure you get medium rare on the prime rib. if you get it too brown then it ll be chewy. -smoked salmon and whitefish pate 5/5 -prime rib 5/5 -perch 5/5 -garlic bread 5/5 -grand traverse pie 5/5

I ve been coming here and getting regular take out and i can honesty this is the best around! the quality is just as great when you get take out no matter what it is, and if you dine in and do the hibachi, oh my gosh. how awesome!! i just went with my father and my 8 year old and all of us had excellent food, our server was great, and the man that cooked our hibachi made it an entire experience! especially for my daughter, he went out of his way to make her experience special. he was also very kind and made sure she was comfortable whenever there was fire. i cannot say enough great things about this place. you just have to try it for yourself. even if you just order take out, you will not be disappointed with the food or the spectacular service. 10/10 will recommend!! vegetarian options: you can order anything without the protein, as well vegetarian options. parking: parking in the front and then an entire parking lot to the side of the building. all free. kid-friendliness: they treated my daughter very well! they made it a great experience for her, not just dinner. i m very impressed by their kid friendly attitude!

Dinner last night was perfection! been going to cooks house for the last 13+ years and it is always a culinary treat! had six different dishes between the two of us and there was not a miss in any of them! wine parings were fun and worked very well. got dessert to go but it was also perfect! keep up the excellent work, team! you are the best!

This is my second time ever coming here but i must say its very eloquent and has a sophistication to it that i highly enjoy. dignified in nature and is a hidden gem, as there isnt much publicity on this place. so that is another thing i enjoy. the waiters and waitresses are great as well. also best of luck to my fellow farmer trying to get his way into the medical field.

Exceptionally phenomenal food! first time here. had the bacon wrapped cod, s&p salad and tc whiskey sour. all of it was so good. i will be back. the atmosphere and locals were all so welcoming and fun.

Wife and i had an amazing dinner. perfectly cooked medium rare fillets. amazing bone marrow, spinach artichoke dip, and smoked whiskey drink. chef there is incredibly talented!

Dinner was top notch. everything that came to the table including the fresh bread was cooked to perfection. the waitress/bartender was always on point with drink refills and making sure our table was clean and clear. the place was getting full and still felt comfortable. this food was so good and was hard not to keep eating. we still had enough for a couple to go boxes. we talked about how good the food was all the way home. i would give this restaurant more then five stars if i could. thank you to all the staff and cooks. you guys were on top of your duties we appreciate you all. we will be back to try other menu items. i almost forgot our drinks were mixed to perfection.

Tony was absolutely amazing. friendly and attentive, not ever annoying, super effing cool. a great asset to the establishment i d lit come back just to see him. took care of his bar patrons while also ensuring staff had their orders in a very reasonable amount of time.seriously cool guy. thank you! This place has excellent food and service.for starters we both had a cup of the lobster bisque, which honestly, i could have ordered a bowl of the bisque and been very happy for the night. for my entree, i had the ribeye with potatoes with a cherry balsamic drizzle. amazing. emily had the veal and couldnt finish it as she found the fat wasnt rendered and there were some grissely bits throughout. they exchanged it for the pork chop and it was a very good exchange. for dessert we had the cheese cake and requested their cherry topping with bourbon glaze on top, which we were glad we did as it took the cheese cake to new levels of decadent. we are planning to come back for some more of that lobster bisque for lunch!

Beautiful restaurant – you can tell that a ton of thought went into the little details in design of this space. the fireplace was beautiful, the seating options were endless. the view of the water while dining is immaculate. the food was outstanding – the risotto from the seared scallops dish pairs with the ribeye exceptionally well. our service was overall decent. we enjoyed our time and experience at this restaurant and would come back again.

We are definitely going back. i was so hungry i forgot to take a photo prior to eating. so worth it. definitely coming back to try their reuben sandwich because my mom tried the egg rolls with a bloody mary, which she enjoyed as well. i had the 4 alarm and my wife had the american. both with tots, which is the best choice. definitely going back but they can get busy so call in to get a spot. dietary restrictions: my sister was able to get something being soy, dairy and gluten free.

The food is a+ but what sets this place apart is the service. anna had experience, confidence, customer service, and personality! after our appetizer, she got the idea of what we wanted and ordered for us most of the remainder of our meal. not only did she enjoy it, she was excellent and thought of all the details to make the dinner perfect! we ended up getting a bottle of wine, the octopus, the chefs plate, fingerling potatoes, celery salad, and foie gras. excellent! we will definitely be back next time we re in traverse city.

We went for early dinner and the server was amazing. the food was delicious fresh salad just the right amount of seasoning and great homemade dressing. everyone loved their food! we will definitely go back.

Don t be put off by the fact that this restaurant is inside a hotel- this is not a hotel restaurant , rather this is a chef and staff that is fully committed to creative scratch kitchen experience. if available, i recommend the tasting menu with wine pairing- you will experience a constellation of perfect small dishes perfectly paired with wine. this place knocks it out of the park!

Randomly had lunch here today with a friend, and it was some of the best breakfast food ive ever eaten. we absolutely fell in love with the place. awesome food, great service, really nice cozy spot, fair prices and big portions. its exactly what you would want out of a small local diner. this is our spot now!
