On my 2024 tour of steakhouses, this was at the top of the list. where do i even begin? first i have to say we were well taken care of by the general manager devante and our server alex. both individuals made the experience a 10/10. the location is easy to find right off of michigan, near the lake. there is a garage across the street with affordable parking by the hour but ubering is a safer bet because the cocktail menu is amazing. we sat in one of their gorgeous booths in the back by their library. although their dining room isnt enormous, there are plenty of seats and two private rooms. i think they utilize them as general seating when they arent booked for parties, but again, plenty of room in the dining area. the bar was also large with a decent amount of seating. we started with martinis and calamari. the calamari comes with a spicy and a sweet dipping sauce. per alexs recommendation, we split the chopped salad. its full of vegetables that compliment each other perfectly. they also bring enormous flaky popovers with a honey butter. youll start with half because theyre so big, but youll finish the whole thing because addicting. for dinner i had the ny strip and my friend had the bottleneck. both were cooked perfectly. we went with creamed corn (very strong smoky flavor), broccolini, and lobster mac. the lobster mac had a generous amount of lobster so i was very happy. for dinner we split their creme brulee special, which was smore flavored. yum! we each also got some espresso because all of that eating had us exhausted. alex and devante stopped by the table periodically to chat. we had such a great time making small talk and learning about the establishment. after dinner we explore their library which is full of vintage books. its hard to choose a highlight to our trip because everything was perfection. we havent stopped talking about our visit and are recommending everyone try out this top tier steakhouse!!

Not sure what some of the complaints were about. but me and my husband enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. i apologize no pics but i was too hungry to think about taking them. we had the ribeye and flatiron steak which melted in your mouth and were bursting with flavor. the broccoli augratin is on point for cheese lovers. i still can not find a pizza oozing with cheese like these. drinks were stiff!! wait staff was very professional and full of recommendations. we will be back :)

Stop scrolling and read this review. i ve given a lot of thought to this review and i want you the reader to really pay attention to this one. let s state the obvious. you saw i gave the jackson grill 5 stars across the board and i stand by that but i think the jackson grill is special. i was recently in milwaukee for business. we ate out for each meal in numerous places. we ate both traditional restaurants as well another supper club all of them were great. no complaints but i didn t enjoy any of them as much as i enjoyed the jackson grill. let s start with the bar. first thing i look at is if the bar is well stocked with a variety of spirits. i was very pleased to see that besides a variety of other tasty whiskeys they also had the glenfiddich 14 of which i happily consumed! the bar keep was kevin and was able to make a vesper for my work associate and i know he was quite pleased. as important as a well stocked and pleasant bar tender is it s also equally important to have the right regulars to set the tone for the bar and the rest of the establishment. i m happy to report that we had great conversations with the other patrons of the bar. it seemed like quite the diverse of locals but everyone was friendly and engaging. it was a super nice experience. next up is the food. i m just going to say, the ribeye was fantastic, get the garlic mashed potatoes. you won t be disappointed. we had some type of saucy shrimp appetizer that was insanely great. let s go back to that ribeye for a minute. was the ribeye insanely good to eat? yes without a doubt. was it huge? again, yes it was. did it have a fancy sauce like they might serve in france? hell no! however it did have a simple au jus that was seasoned and tasted amazing. truthfully making something simple but taste amazing is truly art. i believe the chef s name is jason (i may be wrong about this, i m terrible with names and i apologize) but jason the chef is definitely an artist with food. so a restraunt, is more than a bar and more than just the food, it s the entire place. it s been a week or two and i don t remember everyone s name but the staff are just amazing. our server made us feel like a long last cousin coming home. she was friendly but not fake, she made sure that we were well taken care of with food and drink but didn t interrupt our conversation. she was amazing. another staff made our creme brulee and came out to make sure it was to our liking and that everything was okay. it was more than okay, it was delicious. the chef came out at the end of the night to ask about our meal and to chat. it was an honor. what i didn t mention is that we were referred to the the jackson grill from our hotel s front desk. we went in blind and didn t know what to expect. we called, got reservations for 9 but showed up a little after 8, had drinks and then dinner. although they close at 10 we stayed until at least 11. we apologized for losing track of time, between talking work, the amazing food and the super nice and friendly staff time just got away from us. they were super nice about it and sat down and just talked to us like regular people, not rushing us or giving us any sort of bad attitude. a few other random tidbits to know. 1. the dining room is small so make sure you make reservations! 2, the wine list is very good and didn t disappoint. 3. the decor is unique. if your like me and live in la (ughh) don t let it fool you. yes, it feels very homey but it s awesome and different. i mentioned above the staff makes you feel like family and the decor makes you feel like you re coming home. i hope they never change it. to be clear, milwaukee has many fine restaurants and supper clubs. however this is the one that i ll make sure that i visit every time i visit milwaukee! i think you should as well.
