Rincon Mountain Grill, 12000 E Tanque Verde Rd, Tucson, AZ 85749

In 1999, under a change in ownership, it opened it’s doors to the general public for both golf and dining. shortly thereafter, the rincon mountain grill was born. the name was an obvious choice due to the proximity and views of the rincon mountains to our east. in 2012, the club changed ownership once again. the clubhouse and grill underwent a major remodel in 2013. since then, the club has undergone a tremendous amount of growth and change, all for the better! and now, 10 years later, under the tutelage of chef brian smith as our director of food and beverage, a new chapter in our history has begun.

    One review mentioned:

Darn good restaurant! we arrived for our 5:30 indoor reservation and were greeted and seated promptly. nice vibe to the place and every staff member we encountered was polite. management makes sure their servers get everything right (we witnessed one in training). i chose cork because of the game meats on the menu, as hubby is a hunter. i had grilled artichoke and caesar salad, hubby tried the blackened calamari and bison (rare). neither of us was disappointed. the bison was cooked perfectly and utterly delicious. my items were tasty as well. prices are up there, but very much worth it in my opinion.

Solid menu with a nice variety, but not overwhelming. maybe because of that, the execution was top-notch! i had the hot ham and cheese, which sounds basic. however, it was excellent! especially paired with a side salad. our server noah was great as well.

    One review mentioned:

We just tried this new north/east eatery and loved it! what a pleasant surprise that a fairly casual place and menu, would also have some amazing higher end options like mushroom sacchetti (with short rib) and wellington. the spinach salad was also great and quite big. the bartender made a good rye old fashion (albeit with a bit too much ice) and the beer and wine selections were great. i wish we saved room for deserts but we honestly couldn t even finish our meals we were so full! our server, emilyc, was excellent! can t wait to go back! 3/18/24. we are back. had the lobster/shrimp toast. it was ok/but not great. my wife had a chicken sandwich and it was big and juicy and delicious! victorb

Great place to have awesome steak and listen to country music. military discounts. friendly waiters and waitresses and a manager that walks around to talk to customers. sweet teas have 4 choices to include regular, raspberry, mango and peach. be prepared for at least a 30 min wait to be seated and another 30 mins for food, but its worth it.

  • Image of El Corral

    El Corral

    4.2

El Corral, 2201 E River Rd, Tucson, AZ 85718

In 1915, the tucson citizen reported that local developer john murphey had purchased several thousand acres of property in the foothills of the catalina mountains to the north of town. the editors of the newspaper projected the purchase as folly, an investment in worthless desert hillsides, never to be recovered.

for john murphey, it took just over a decade to prove his detractors wrong. by the end of the 1920s, homes were being built in the catalina foothills neighborhoods, and the distinctive spanish colonial and mission revival style buildings in the area began to take form.

a short distance east of campbell avenue a building was built in 1926, possibly the first restaurant/cafe/tavern east of oracle road.

    One review mentioned:

Loved all of it! food was perfectly cooked. service was exceptional, she s been employed at el corral since 1980s. atmosphere was one of a kind. i would recommend it if you are interested in a large quantity of food for a very reasonable price. the blackberry cobbler was my favorite!
