Every time we visit gloucester, we definitely make sure to have a meal at oak to ember. it is an absolutely fantastic space that is serving up some of the most creative food! not only is the staff fantastic and super knowledgeable about the drinks and the food but the menu is something that i still dream about. plus as a non-drinker, their mocktail menu is so thoughtful and delicious. we ve had many things here, but i definitely suggest getting the wood grilled calamari, you ll never eat calamari like this ever again in your life!

We had a great time and the food was delicious. mussels were abundant as an appetizer and we got the awesome bread. had the asian curry with lobster and sisters haddock. overall, a decent price for the meal $71 before tax and tips.

The food here was amazing! good portion sizes, fresh, and flavorful. the waitress was very friendly. inviting atmosphere and overall very wonderful experience. we had clam chowder soup, coconut curry muscles, sword fish and sea bass all so delicious!! highly recommend eating here!

My family from out of state really wanted to try new england style seafood experience. this place did not disappoint. we tried calling ahead after a long day of sightseeing. but told we would have to come in and place our orders which was perfectly fine with us. ordering at the window went surprisingly fast considering how packed the place was. there was outdoor seating and live music. and awesome views of the harbor. i would definitely recommend this place if you dont mind a busy atmosphere.

I love this place! had the chicken and squash raviolis, and its was wonderful. the steak tips were delicious and the haddock was light fluffy and sweet and the house cab. was really good. i really cant wait to come back. our waitress was excellent and so accommodating.

We were a table of ten, had incredible service and the food was epic!! highly recommend! the menu caters to whatever you want from sushi to spaghetti bolognese! desert was insane too! our waitress carolyne was warm and friendly! will definitely be back!

One of my favorite bar to vist and bring my friends from out of town. even tho there was rain showers early morning the sun came out and became a very beautiful day out at *54. windy but worth every penny i spent here…i highly recommend this is one of the top gloucester restaurants to vist if u come to town. i most highly recommend. i myself will always be back you can count on that. shane

Its an original vintage diner style bistro with all the charm of the 50s and 2023 classic seashore menu. complete selection of menu items, so extensive it took 3 minutes to review them all. we settled on roast beef sandwiches with all the toppings and delighted by the presentation, size, freshness of the bun, and most importantly, the melt in your mouth roast beef. the real deal!! the french fries and onion rings were remarkable!!! i topped it off with a fresh berries frozen yogurt!!! prepared right in front of us. don t pass this one up!

Nice place for lunch. food was generally good, although the crab sandwich needed something. kind of bland. the lobster roll and grilled octopus were really good though, and of course the chowder was excellent. friendly and pretty fast service, especially considering we were there at the lunch rush.

Overall excellent experience all things considered. the appetizers were very good. drinks were all well poured. entrees were good with a few misses but nothing major. we happened to have some music as well which was nice. our server was great.

My husband and i stopped in last minute while just coming into town and were greeted with such warmth and hospitality! the staff was so attentive and kind! now for the food, it was so delicious! i got the fish and chips, which was extremely fresh and flaky without an ounce of grease, and my husband got the lobster grilled cheese, which he loved! we left so full, the portion sizes were extremely generous! the views were incredible as well! if you re in gloucester and want a romantic dinner with great food and service, this is the place to go!

I have only been there a few times but it is one of my favorite places in gloucester! the sandwiches and pastries are great, a big variety of unique foods that are worth the money. also very nice inside, seems like a great place to relax and enjoy some amazing food.

I was there back in the summer. it was a terrific evening. the food was scrumptious; the service was attentive; the atmosphere was lively. (the reason for 4 on atmosphere is because i found the tables too close to each other.) would definitely go back whenever in gloucester!

We are traveling up the new england coast and just happened to stop by charley s place for dinner. the food was delicious! the bowl of lobster bisque was huge and so creamy! it was full of lobster meat, enough for two people. i had a bacon and grilled cheese and my husband had an avocado blt. we were satisfied with the portions. the bacon was thick and avocado was fresh. charley s place did not disappoint!

Outstanding experience! this a cute little spot which feels somehow tucked away. the food is really superb. loved the cocktails and the apt descriptions of the oysters. the pizzas cooked in the on display wood fire oven were also a hit, we highly reccomend getting somethings with the tomato sauce base. also a sleeper? the homemade hot sauce. service was great, never overbearing but never too far, will certainly be back again.

I absolutely love this place. i usually get a martini with breakfast, but today, just coffee. the food here is phenomenal, and the service is impeccable. i do recommend coming early. the place tends to fill up fast. the options are great, and i love the croissant egg sandwich. i hope you eat here if youre in gloucester. you wont be dissatisfied.

The bar is intimate and cozy with an attentive bartender/server behind it. there werent any tables, that i could see, just the bar and some benches by the window. the white apple sangria was deliciously dangerous and the food was amazing! definitely would go back!

I can t say enough great things about the cut. when it was announced last fall that there was a new live music venue opening in gloucester, i was cautiously optimistic. then when they announced a show for the shemekia copeland and then sunny war i was all in. the buffalo tom show was fantastic as well. the venue acoustically is top notch, staff is wonderful, great food, and fabulous craft cocktails. let me highlight. the staff makes all the difference. i can t wait to see more shows another great reason to visit gloucester

What a great place. everything was delicious. fresh oysters , grilled octopus tuna , pork chop and the best key lime pie we have ever had. service was excellent as well. we will def be back next time in gloucester.

Visited for the first time last night and i cant believe we waited so long. this place is delicious! its a cute place with a large bar and seating at well spaced tables, plenty of elbow room. service was great. server (owner or manager maybe?) was very warm and friendly. i got the machaca (beef brisket) rolled up in a chimichanga while my partner had a variety of tacos. it was all amazing! even the sauce on the chimi had me cleaning my plate! another owner(?), cook(?) also stopped by to check on us and explained the family background about some menu items. we were delighted. the margarita was also tasty. we will definitely be back for another taco tuesday (or margaritas monday, etc.). i think this is our new favorite in the area. cant wait to try more food!

The service was great. our waitress was very attentive. the food was really good. i especially liked the loaded nachos. and for drinks i tried the pumpkin martini and the brownie batter martini and they were yummy. the atmosphere was very relaxed. they even have throw pillows in the booths. very comfy. i would definitely eat here again if i ever found myself in the area.

First time to this area and absolutely love this place! the nachos are enormous and can feed 3-4 people. they were super good! the chicken sandwich was as also super tender and tasty! great for the family or casual date!

Grabbed dinner after an afternoon at the beach. we grabbed 3 entrees and soft drinks. service was friendly and quick. chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. the main meals were all served hot. each was delicious in its own way. i don t think that you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

This is definitely a locals place. it has a great neighborhood setting across from the harbor. signs all around reaffirm they operate at a slower speed than fast food and that all orders are made from scratch. the menu is the perfect combination of classic and new, and the food tasted like it came from my mothers kitchen. if you want to have breakfast in gloucester, this is the place. we will be back on our next trip for sure.

I eat here all the time with my girlfriend and her father. we also get delivery. portions are good size, the food is hot and delicious. absolute best pizzas in town we get the bacon and pineapple pizza at least once a week. ive bounced around the menu and had their sandwiches and pasta as well. service is fast and friendly. also clean on the inside. really love the food here my favorite spot in all of gloucester.
