    One review mentioned:

Honestly the best steak of my life! i ordered the prime t-bone steak medium and oh boy, wow. the meat was perfectly cooked, soo tender, juicy, huge, had an amazing crust outside, seasoned with big salt flakes, and fat that melted in your mouth. super high quality meat. i miss this steak so much and im crying as im writing this review reliving the memories of this beautiful steak. i paired mine with a manhattan to drink which was fantastic. my friend got the prime rib of beef, kings cut medium and got it charred outside. absolutely amazing too. tender, juicy, huge, and the char on the outside really elevated it without compromising the inside. they also serve some dinner rolls with butter and a small assortment of carrots, celery, olives, and dip to eat before your meal. on top of the meats, the atmosphere in this place is incredible! it is dimly lit, old school, vintage, woodsy, and filled with tobacco pipes used by historical figures which creates such a cool ambiance. we walked in without a reservation at 5pm sharp on a saturday and were able to get a table for two instantly. we either got lucky or just make sure to get there at open. definitely make reservations for dinner. if youre coming to visit new york, go here. splurge a little, but itll be so worth it!

Enjoyed my overall experience. i will say the steak is a little under seasoned, but you can get a sauce that will make up for it. my personal opinion is that the steak should be perfect on its own, and a sauce can complement. still, the service, ambience and everything are great and we had a fantastic time.

    J-Spec, 239 E 5th St, New York, NY 10003

    Wagyu japanese restaurant
all wagyu at j-spec are black wagyu, above a5 rank and above 10 bms (beef marbling value,) directly imported from japan.
wagyu has a distinct texture and flavor profile compared to american beef; the rich fat gives a melts in your mouth sensation.

although many international markets recognize the quality and value of these meats, the high price point has been an obstacle, keeping the meat out of reach of most consumers. after working in different japanese restaurants throughout new york city, we are thrilled to now be able to serve the cuts we are so proud of to our guests at this restaurant.

wagyu & tempura omakase dinners are available now at 6:30 pm through tues-sat for limited seats with reservations.

    One review mentioned:

After binge watching love is blind for 4 hours, it took everything for my lil baby and i to peel ourselves out of bed to make our 6pm reservation at virginias. to be honest, the last minute cancellation would have cost me $50 so thats really what got me… and thats so fair they should charge for last minute cancellations on a res. ive walked by virginias hundreds of times at this point, and made so many mental notes to pop in as it looks so inviting from the outside. upon finally entering, i was right. inviting af. as we sat down i became almost giddy for the meal, as the ambiance is so well curated. im a sucker for those little floating orb lights and a cool under lit bar ahahaha. we started with drinks (negroni for me, obviously. my nickname in high school was post negrone), the little gem salad, and the crab croquettes. the little gem salad was out of this world honestly. i dont even know, i could have eaten 10 of those things. for mains, wifey got the burger per yelp direction and i got the steak frites because i am on a mission to try every steak frites in the city. the burger is absolutely to die for. the hype is real. its recommended medium rare, and it came cooked to perfection. i mean look at the attached pic, jesus christ. every bite of this large beef patty amalgamated with cabot cheddar, onion marmalade, marrow aioli, and bacon is a juicy blast of heaven between 2 buns. it was spiritual. the steak frites was the best one ive had in nyc. granted ive only had like 7-8, but still, head and shoulders my favorite right now. i mean again, just look at the pic attached. do i need to say anymore? i mean look at that maitre d butter soaking into the steak. great portion size too. steak was bigger than my head ahaha god did. however the only negative, that is my civic duty to mention, was fries do not come with the burger… and the fries are an extra $12!?!?! damn. me and wifey just split the fries from my steak frites so we were chillin, but an extra $12 for some fries? on top of a $20 burger? $25 if you add bacon too $29 if you add the egg i really began to worry about the future of the world when burgers stopped coming with fries. i wonder if theyll start serving scrambled eggs without bacon lol. thats when ill know itll be time to flee the country. regardless of fry-gate, i loved this place… i dont hold it against them either, as most high end american places are doing this. much to my chagrin in times like this, the market is the market. shoutout to our girl, morgan, as she was an amazing waitress. super engaging, giving us great recs, checking in on us all the time, etc. the staff here was fantastic. my experience was so memorable that i almost bought a hoodie, but bailed last minute as i got really shy and i spent a good amount on dinner ahahahaha. this is one of the best american food spots i have been to in all of nyc. it will make my revised list of all nba lower east side restaurants. god did! ig @jnov_ tiktok @jnov__

Great ambiance and perfectly cooked steaks. the rib chop special is highly recommended as are the charred scallops, bone marrow and caesars salad. the only blemish was the sticky toffee pudding which was served cold and still wasnt great when warmed up. the peanut butter louis dessert was much better they have a very reasonable corkage fee of $35 which was great for me as i had some nice red wines ive been planning on opening with a nice meal

Refined, globally-inspired dishes at this tasting menu spot with a chef’s counter & petite digs.

    One review mentioned:

A truly exceptional dining experience. if you dont like spice in your food, do not go there. if you dont like any heat in your food, do not go there. however, if you like those things, the tasting menu at luthun is a rare example of zero-misses in the world of more creative and inventive cuisine. its usually a corollary of creativity and culinary research to end up with dishes that are creative but not as tasty as they should be. there are none of those here. from the first bite to the incredible dessert, everything is bursting with flavors, colors, creativity. the counter experience is reminiscent of early momofuku ko with a real engagement of the diner with the cuisine, conversations with the chef and cooks about the produce or techniques. so friendly, so satisfying to anyone who cares about food. a lovely experience all around.
