I am so glad i spotted this restaurant as i rode by on my scooter. a quick stop at home and i was back for dinner at tung tong 181 before sunset. the relaxed outdoor seating arrangement with beautiful plants surrounding drew me in along with the delicious smell of thai food. from start to finish the service and ambiance of the restaurant made me feel at home and welcome. our waitress was friendly and quick as she dashed around serving the busy restaurant almost single handedly without missing a beat. she got us several drinks still within the happy hour window which was nice. our food order came out not long after ordering hot and fresh! i love the chicken pad thai with pineapple fried rice. it s the perfect combination for me. the food was flavorful! i would recommend this spot for any thai food lover or anyone looking to try something new. enjoy!

    One review mentioned:

Its definitely some of the tastiest malaysian food weve eaten in a long time. its seems this was two store fronts combined into one. we sat on the side with the west new malaysia sign on the glass door. it was much harder to get a waiters attention even after we waving for them. we ordered the satay beef on skewers, the curry combo rice and prawn noodle soup. the curry beef and chicken was one of the more flavorful combos and had a thick curry sauce with meat shredding with a light touch. the beef skewers were delicious and that peanut sauce was addictive. the prawn had some of the tiniest prawns, wouldnt get it again, but it was definitely a decent sizes bowl. all portions were plentiful. there is a 3 percent surcharge when using credit.

    One review mentioned:

This place is absolutely fantastic! the food here is not only comforting but also incredibly delicious, and whats even better is that the prices are very reasonable. our group of five decided to go for the $51 menu, which turned out to be an excellent choice. it included a choice of soup for the table, three appetizers, a whole peking duck carved right at our table, three main courses, rice, and a delightful small dessert to finish off the meal. it was truly a feast, and every single dish was bursting with flavor. despite the noise and the occasional challenge of securing a reservation on busy days with large groups, the overall experience was impeccable. bring your own wine! ever does it, it s the way how it works. overall, it was an outstanding dining experience that i would highly recommend to anyone in search of delicious chinese cuisine at a great value.

    One review mentioned:

Went in recommendation that this place was good and had great dumplings. this place had great modern asian decor located in nyc chinatown. we tried a lot of their dim sum menu. the one that surprised us the most was the oxtail bun. was the best out of all the things we tried. the next best was the 5 spice quail. they had these fried leaves as garnish and was surprisingly good. such a good aroma to it and crunchy too. it was fried and had a good taste to it. the disappointing dish was the lobster and shrimp toast. the toast was so oily. didn t see or taste much lobster. it is all shrimp. they have a pickled vegetable on top of a marinated dried squid and the toast was cut into 4 pieces. the garnish was more interesting than the actual dish. didn t enjoy the over the top oily toast. the dumplings we had all are nothing to write home about. the squid ink noodles were super oily. i don t know who has a taste for oily stuff. i personally can t stomach it. the noodles so had a bit of sour flavor, i m guessing out in to counteract the oil. didn t work. the last dish we had was the spicy fried chicken. it is pretty spicy but very good. they keep the place pretty dark. service was great. recommend you try it at least once.

Quite possibly the best cantonese style food in manhattans chinatown. btw we have at 6 major chinatowns in nyc (2 in queens, 3 in brooklyn). while i havent tried all their dishes (yet) the ones i have were top notch. the wontons are full of shrimp and pork in a paper thin wrapper.. my friend turned me on to ordering it with sliced roast pork and its next level good. their portions are generous. 2 entrees can easily feed 3 people. we had the cantonese pan fried noodles with chicken (pictured after it was partially eaten). the crunchy noodles were perfectly pan fried. the geavy that topped it had a hint of ginger and full of flavor. cant wait to try their beef chow fun.

Fish are plucked from tanks up front at this cantonese seafood spot also known for a dim sum lunch.

    One review mentioned:

We had a great time at ping s. ping s has a limited, but excellent, selection of dimsum as part of their dinner menu. pork & shrimp shumai was among the best i ve ever had. seafood shumai was not bad either. the chicken feet were fall off the bone tender. the steamed roast pork puns were kinda mid, though. char siu was excellent, and perhaps ever so slightly too fatty for my taste. braised beef short ribs were tender, but they came with cilantro :(. the jumbo prawns with walnut & broccoli was a perfect dish for pictures. it was delicious, but i think it would be a difficult dish to mess up. as for poultry, the pigeon dish on the specials menu was exceptional, if pricey; i loved the steamed crystal chicken, but i think i was in the minority. the golden egg fried rice was so crispy, and infinitely better than the stone pot sticky rice. the japanese tofu and crab meat was probably my favorite, and the manila clams, with a fishy taste, definitely my least. the prices were fair. it was slightly over $50 (including 20% tip + taxes) per person. some of the menu items, especially the seafood, were *really* expensive, so if you re on a budget, pay extra attention to the prices, and definitely don t just go with whatever they recommend. service was so good, and speaking cantonese probably helped.
